About St George's

St George's is a Church of England church in Hamilton Avenue, Tolworth, in the Royal Borough of Kingston upon Thames, in suburban south-west London, England.  It is part of the parish of St Matthew's, Surbiton in the Anglican diocese of Southwark.

The parish motto '.. to know Jesus and to make him known ..' helps us focus our mission as a Church, in response to the love of God revealed in Jesus Christ.

'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life' John 3:16

St George's began as a daughter Church of St Matthew's - a response to a rapidly growing population in the Tolworth area in the early twentieth century, and the expression of a desire for a local centre for worship and ministry. We believe it is important to maintain strong links with the local community.

We aim to cater for all ages, firmly believing that worshipping God enriches the lives of all. We have Creche facilities where parents can be with their young children but still participate indirectly in Services. At the 10 am Services on Sundays we have a Sunday Club, called TIGA, for children up to age 10 and a group for children between 11 and 14 years old called GODStrong. There is also a youth group, Spectrum, for teenagers called which meets on Sunday evenings.

We also believe Christian discipleship includes all areas of life, and so aim to provide an active social and fellowship programme, and opportunities to join in small groups.
